Dear Church Family, The new year always offers new opportunities –and here’s one you might consider. My friend Leo Gafney, with whom I’ve enjoyed being in a Bible study for 7 years, proposed we co-teach a course surveying the Bible for the Taconic Learning Center. We’re calling the class “A Fresh Look at the Bible” and the goal is to give a big picture overview of the major themes of scripture by looking at eight key personalities. It’s a little crazy, I know, to try to survey the whole Bible in just 8 weeks, but we think it might be fun. That class will be held in the Geer Chapel on 8 Wednesdays beginning January 22, from 1-3 p.m. You can learn more by going to the “Taconic Learning Center” website and clicking on the courses page. Several of you have signed up already and we would welcome others.. Interested choir members could of course leave a few minutes early to make it to rehearsal. This Sunday’s sermon is titled “So Like God!” and the texts are Jeremiah 31:7-14 and Galatian 5:22-26 and 6:7-10. Don’t forget the Annual meeting is Sunday January 26, following worship. Those from whom reports are expected should get them into church Clerk Dick Heinz as soon as possible. See you in church. Rich
