Dear Church Family, Happy 1st day of Spring. Though undoubtedly we’ll have a few chilly days still ahead, it is nice to see flowers pushing up through the soil and anticipating the riot of color from the spring bulbs. There is exciting news to report. At their meeting on Sunday, the Trustees voted to proceed with the project to expand the bathroom and make it handicapped accessible. A contract for $33,000 is being signed with contractor Jason Lemon. Work will include moving the bathroom wall to accommodate more space and meet code, reworking plumbing for the bathroom and kitchen, adding new ADA compliant fixtures and doing necessary repainting and reflooring. Members of Trustees (Tracy Atwood, Terry Blass, (co-chairs) Kay Blass, Donna Heinz, and Jack Wilcox will be available this Sunday during coffee hour to answer questions about the project. The project will be financed with funds given by the Burdick Foundation, the Arvidson Fund, including the Carole K. McGuire memorial funds, Remembrance Fund donations, other memorial gifts, and budgeted current building funds . Work will begin on April 28 and take about two months. Some adjustments will have to be made for coffee hour and to provide bathroom facilities for several weeks. The texts for the 3rd Sunday in Lent are Isaiah 55:1-9 and Luke 13:1-9. The sermon is “Repentance.” See you in church. Rich
