Dear Church Family, We are still basking in the afterglow of a nice visit from our grandchildren (and their parents, of course!) They were with us for a few days, then spent time with their Massachusetts grandparents before returning to us for four days. Among other things we celebrated the June birthday of the two younger grans, went to several library story times (with Miss Rita, who was a big hit), visited the zoo in Millbrook, and enjoyed the town Grove and swimming and canoeing on Washinee Lake. We played numerous games of old favorites like Sorry, UNO, Monopoly,Jr, and a new one, Sequence. And, of course, we made several trips to the Caddie Shack. A full schedule for us aging grandparents, but great fun to see their developing skills and personalities. Our only regret was they weren’t here over a Sunday, so we didn’t get to show them off to you, like any self respecting grandparent! Last Sunday we had a beautiful opportunity to remember treasured family members and friends with our Remembrance Sunday. We received $2600 in memorial donations. Be sure to notice the new curtains in Miner Hall, which were paid for by Remembrance funds. Thanks for the congregation’s generosity and for the team that so quickly got the curtains purchased and hung. Sunday service will focus on “The Greatest Myth About Life.” The scripture texts are I Kings 19:1-8 and 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 See you in church. Rich
