Dear Church family, Some of you who are participating in and enjoying the fellowship of the Falls Village Congregational Church might want to consider joining the church as a member. Membership is a way of visibly demonstrating your commitment to serving Christ and neighbor through a particular community of faith. Members can vote in congregational decision making and may serve in church leadership as Deacons, Trustees, or members of the Board of Outreach. The sacrament of baptism is often viewed as God’s welcome to the community of faith. According to church bylaws, those joining the church should be baptized, at the time of joining or previously. Full voting membership is open to those at least 12 years of age. Officially joining the church involves affirming a brief statement of faith and a commitment to participate joyfully in the life of the community. If you would like to deepen your commitment in this way, you are encouraged to talk to one of the Deacons: Mary Atwood, Maria Bulson, Donna Heinz, Dennis Jasmine, or Terry Ryan. They will invite you to meet with them to explore this opportunity and become better acquainted. We feel richly blessed to have such a special community in Falls Village and look forward to welcoming already valued friends to official membership. . Rich and Lynn will be away this weekend on a long planned “cousins” reunion in Ocean City, NJ. The Rev. Betsey Mauro –a familiar and welcome face-- will be leading worship. Peace and Joy, Rich
